Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Behold Bible Study app and the beholden.app website ("Services") provided by Berean Studios LLC ("we," "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Behold Bible Study app on Apple devices tied to your Apple ID, subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the app.
2. Subscriptions
"The Berean" subscription unlocks image-based content (Visual References, image-backed schematics). All payments, billing, and renewals are handled by Apple through the App Store.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the price shown in the App Store unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device.
- Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Lifetime purchases are non-refundable through us; Apple's standard refund policy still applies.
3. Your study content
You retain full ownership of all study content you create in Behold (highlights, notes, prayer requests, memorization cards, studies). We do not collect or read your content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
4. Authored content and editorial stance
Behold's authored content (topical threads, schematic insights, prophecy interpretation, journey narratives) is written from a dispensational, premillennial, young-earth, grammatical-historical perspective. We do not present other interpretive frameworks as equivalents within the authored content. This is an editorial choice, not a claim against other traditions. You are free to disagree with our framing.
5. Bible translations
Bundled translations (KJV and other public-domain texts) are included under their respective public-domain status. Other translations are fetched from API.bible under their licensing terms; some require an active subscription on our side and may be subject to attribution requirements shown in-app. We do not modify the text of any translation we provide.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to access another user's iCloud-synced data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Resell or commercially distribute the app or its bundled content
7. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all of your study data will be retained without loss. Maintain your own backups of any study work that is important to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Berean Studios LLC, its officers, members, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, study material, or profit arising from your use of the Services. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) one hundred US dollars.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms. Termination does not affect your rights regarding study data already on your devices or in your private iCloud database.
10. Trademarks
Behold™ and Berean Studios™ are trademarks of Berean Studios LLC. Use of these names or logos for promotional, commercial, or app-store purposes requires written permission.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Services after a change indicates your acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State in which Berean Studios LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that State, except where applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
